About the Speakers:

Ken is currently the Senior Structural Engineer for Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission where he keeps GSFIC’s List of Eligible Firms for Special Inspections, Material Testing, Geotechnical Services, and/or related Services for the State of Georgia Construction Projects. His professional engineering experience also includes:

  • Design of nuclear equipment and piping supports with Westinghouse - Offshore Power Systems
  • Stress analysis on railroad cars and design of equipment supports for Thrall Car Manufacturing
  • Consulting engineering with Daniel Consultants
  • Engineering for the fiber optic industry with Power Engineers 1996-2002
  • Fulton County Structural Plan Reviewer 2003-2005
  • Structural Building Plan Reviewer for the City of Sandy Springs 2005-2014

Ken earned a BSCE in 1980 and a MSCE in 1986, both from Virginia Tech. Ken has lived in Georgia since 1987 and held several ASCE offices including President of ASCE Georgia Section in the 1990s. Currently, Ken is Secretary of the Structural Engineers Association of Georgia. As a member of SEAOG he has served on the Georgia Special Inspections Guideline Committee for both the 2006 and the 2012 versions of ACEC/SEAOG SI GL 01.
