Northside Hospital Duluth Suburban Hematology-Oncology Associates (SHOA) and Temporary ICU
United Consulting provided construction materials testing and special inspections for Northside Hospital Duluth’s Suburban Hematology-Oncology Associates renovation and a temporary Intensive Care Unit (ICU) project during the height of the coronavirus pandemic. Our team’s work on the SHOA renovation included rehabilitating medical offices with new HVAC and furnishings, along with inspecting foundations, sampling and testing concrete, and examining structural welds. For the temporary ICU project, we provided materials testing and foundation inspections for the installation of a prefabricated structure.
We verified soil bearing pressure, inspected footings for proper size and reinforcement, and tested concrete to ensure the foundations were ready upon the structure’s arrival. United Consulting’s timely service allowed construction on both facilities to proceed as scheduled.
