AMLI Atlantic Station
AMLI’s 2.4-acre mixed-use development project features a 10-story Epicor residential structure built atop two levels of parking, The street level includes 25,000 square feet of retail and dining, surrounding a vibrant courtyard along the Atlantic Station side, with 360 residential units above.
United Consulting initially gathered geotechnical data and provided foundation recommendations based on 17 Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings and infiltration testing. As construction approached, our experts conducted 59 air track drilling holes, including offset locations, to further assess the depth to rock suitable for deep foundations. Additional services included observing and documenting the installation of drilled shaft and micro pile foundation systems, inspecting structural steel elements, including reinforcing steel and connections, and overseeing post-tension cable placement at the elevated slab locations.
Our team of licensed geotechnical engineers, American Concrete Institute (ACI)-certified technicians, and International Code Council (ICC)-certified special Inspectors identified several challenges throughout the project, including complex soil conditions and foundation requirements. These issues were thoroughly documented and addressed through detailed testing and innovative client-focused solutions to ensure the project’s success.
