Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Maintenance Facility

United Consulting performed environmental investigations on a property formerly used as a Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) maintenance facility and evaluated the extent of potential releases from past operations. Proposed plans for the site include a spacious park featuring play areas, a dog park, a synthetic turf soccer field, and ample parking.

Our team of licensed engineers conducted Phase I and Phase II Environmental Assessments while serving as a liaison between the client and the Georgia Brownfield Program. We also conducted asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, a stream condition survey, and extensive sampling for Brownfield site characterization. Other activities included assisting DeKalb County Recreation Parks and Cultural Affairs with the initial Brownfield application and developing a detailed Prospective Purchaser Corrective Action Plan (PPCAP) to address site contamination. Soil remediation was performed under Brownfield PPCAP, with United Consulting providing oversight of the process, which included hazardous soil treatment, confirmation samples, excavation, and landfill disposal.
