Scott Smelter

Scott Smelter is a founding member, Principal, and Treasurer of United Consulting, bringing four decades of experience in geotechnical engineering. He is a recognized industry expert and advises a diverse range of clients, including attorneys and lenders, on environmental risk levels.

As the visionary behind United Consulting’s Environmental Practice, Scott leads a team of 35 engineers and environmental specialists and is responsible for a diverse range of technical, administrative, management, and business development activities. He also directs numerous projects in environmental and geotechnical services, and successfully managed thousands of environmental assessments and geotechnical investigations for public and private sector clients.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He served as President of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia and is a member of several professional organizations.
